Shockers Vibro tech science any thoughts?

The science of shockers suit and vibro smashers:

Hi

I see many of you are versed in science as seen in the web shooter threads.

I have always loved the shockers tools (vibrating suit and gauntlets) I am going to write a paper on how comics impacted the militaries conception of weapons design. I really wanted to focus on the shocker. But I have always been confounded by just how he creates the shockwaves. There are many different interpretations of the discharge : compressed air, infrasound, ultrasound, electric discharge, even what looks like electromagnetic discharge. Everything from pneumatics to electrostatics seem to describe the discharge. I have done some research and found that infrasound can possibly create a seismic reaction BUT in order to create infra waves the unit has to be gigantic (surly not small enough to wear on the wrists).I thought of possibly a ultrasonic feedback in which the focused ultrasound hits the target and is oscillated up via the feedback and a second unit pulses the ultrasound?

That’s one idea, but if you realy notice in the comics the discharge seems to have physical impact as well. So what would be feasible for such tech?? A cross between pulsed vortex waves AND sound? Some science professor said perhaps his units use electric to ionize the air (making it more conductive to electromagnetic energy) and the em waves are pulsed at the same rate as the ultrasound units creating a sort of cross interference between the pulsed air impacts and the ultrasound.

What do you science guys think???
