Why Spiderman's presence in the MCU needs to be established, why SMCU is not enough

If there is any notoriety I have created for myself in regards to Spiderman, it is the fact that I will never let go of the idea of him being incorporated in the mcu.

Let me start from the top. The best case scenario is that Sony and Disney make a deal and allow the Spiderman films to fully enter the continuity of the mcu. This means not only will there be cameos and easter eggs (the easter eggs won't really just be easter eggs anymore). This I think would make the most people happy, and Disney being the juggernaut conglomerate it is I wish would be a little more sympathetic to Sony who is suffering losses even with the gargantuan success that is the Ps4 as of now. Strange isn't it?

And now from the bottom, which is also a response to those who are saying "no, Spiderman is a loner and shouldn't be a part of the mcu" To those of you I say, no, you're absolutely (half) wrong. Fine, if you don't think he should play with the Marvel cast then that's fine, but to say that he shouldn't be a part of the same universe is absolutely wrong. In the comics (ALL these characters of course came from the comics, from IM to SM) whether or not the characters' stories crossed over often, they all operated in the same universe.

So for that very reason, at the very LEAST, I want to see some easter eggs and story overlaps to at least let the viewer know everything that is happening in one movie effected the other, which would make the easter eggs an isthmus indicating that the asm series is unofficially a part of the mcu. Oscorp in the Avengers with a subsequent line from crane dad "If there's one thing an alien invasion is good for, it's creating a bunch of new construction jobs") would have been all we needed to know that everything that's occurring in the mcu is occurring in the background of the asm series.

To those of you saying, "the absence of spiderman would be more obvious if they added easter eggs to each other's movies" to that I say, well if the above paragraph is all we would get, then it would be start. Surely, it would hype up the audience more, and if it is doing its job well enough, perhaps Sony and Disney would take it to the next level and actually collaborate.

Which brings me to another point - if Spidey does end up back in the mcu at some point, I don't want it to be because Sony sold him back to them. I mean, I don't care if that's what it takes (but I would REALLY despise them rebooting it again) but I find that it would be more exciting if two studios came together to bring franchises to crossover rather than them all being under the same roof.

And lastly, to really get into why the SMCU is not enough to compete with the mcu - Spiderman is one superhero, at one point in time he may have been Marvel's most popular and generally one of the most popular ever. But since this SMCU would be built around just him, a lot of the screen time in his movies are just building up his CU and by that I mean, building up for each next instalment, since there are no other superheroes to have their own films to span out the story. Yes, I get that they're going to do that with Venom but realistically I don't see that being so successful seeing as how the GA doesn't even really "love" the new series.

MCU is at the top right now and it really took off after the Avengers, and anyone denying that Spiderman is just as popular is kidding themselves. The highest grossing SM film was SM3 which is also probably the most hated and every SM film after that hasn't performed as well.

Yes they have performed well but not up to Spidey's own standards in my opinion. The MCU really knows how to catch attention and the Thor and Captain America sequels are proof of that. The interest in Spidey obviously hasn't disappeared but it has clearly gone down and it is definitely because of the MCU and Spidey's lack of involvement in it. Can anyone come up with another reason?

And lastly, the biggest and most unavoidable reason of all - regardless of how less iconic Spidey may be, he is still and probably forever will be Marvel's flagship character, and not having him be part of the MCU makes both it and the SMCU feel empty. MCU for not having its principle, true #1 blue ace and SMCU for being isolated, having 1 superhero when in fact that superhero is supposed to live in a world where even though in the city he's from he's the center of attention there are other superheroes roaming around.

The Sinister Six to me is nothing to be hyped/excited about. It is just SM3(or ASM2) with double the amount of villains; 6 instead of 3, that's it, nothing more adds to the depth of the story other than Spidey having a greater battle on his hands.

I really don't care what ******** rights/contracts prevent these two studios from working. Just do it. They were gonna take the first step once last year, and even though it didn't happen, why stop there? The fact that they were even gonna do it for all I know makes it cannon that there is in fact an Oscorp tower somewhere in the avengers skyline that just wasn't seen.

Keep in mind it is the exact same scenario as Batman not being in a DCCU or Justice League film. Can you imagine that? The DCCU has its own issues with not having Christian Bale as Batman in it but that's another story. I've said everything I wanted to say and I hope someone out there will agree with me.
