Evolution of the Trailer over the years....

I appreciate the 'modern world' has access to instant information & 24 hour click resources and film & cultural medium have to respond accordingly, moving with the times, but the 'art' of the trailer, it's purpose and structure has been lost, disolved over the years in my humble opinion.

When I was growing up, the ONLY place you see information or a trailer for an upcoming film was in the cinema, no internet, no pre-release information, no sneak peeks and all the surprises when you got to the cinema and the trailers acknowledged this of that era, minimal information given, a flavour of the film, nothing more.

Personally, trailers and pre-release have moved so far away from 'suprise' it's ridiculous, I know publicity is to get everyone in to see the film and the competition for everyone's $$ is huge, but trailers seem to SPELL every little plot point out these days, having just watched SPECTRE's trailer, I believe I've worked out every element of major plot turn there is.

Basically, message to studio's - leave some of the film out until we get to see it at the cinema please.
