I am exploring the idea of placing a universal hero, Batman, in realistic settings. Eventually, the series will take on narratives, word bubbles, and possibly other characters. Batman will peel away layers that lie underneath the mask and potentially reveal, in these images, a part of who we are, or who we want to be?
I collected comic books back in the 70s and have always been a fan of superheroes. The idea of a being a hero has always intrigue me. I want to save the world, save those around me in pain, and save myself! Characteristics of the hero is in all of us, we take on our personal villains, fight against temptations, and travel a livelong journey to overcome, conquer, and triumph over the evils of our world and those that lie within.
