A certain individual (henceforth referred to as Bob) has not seen TASM2, despite saying that he had attended an early screening. Below is correspondence between he and I that contains very problematic assertions by the former individual. Said correspondence has been edited so as to be more easily read via a discussion thread. Rest assured, the content, scope, and quality of what was said has not been altered.
Bobs assertions ('spoilers') about the film that can be deemed accurate or not upon release (if he is wrong about any of the following spoilers then he never saw the film on march 10)
- Says that the chimney scene; specifically peters filthy face, occurs as a result of spider-man leaping away to the fire (after watching gwen cross the road)
- The chimney scene takes place before peter starts investigating oscorp and or his parents
- Flashbacks of uncle ben, some new ones (i.e. not from tasm1); most occur when Peter is thinking hard
- Goblin breaks Gwens neck with one arm in front of Peters eyes. Harry is like (and I quote directly here) I'm tired of this, no stops, I'm just going to kill her
- Gwen kicks the bucket out of pure rage
- Peter beats the proverbial out of Harry after he kills Gwen
- Harry needs Peters blood to perfect the serum that will heal Norman supposedly (even though his Dad is dead early in the film and Bob confirms that the scene between Norman and Harry [not everyone has a happy ending] occurs before the news bulletin that announces Norman is dead; i.e. Harry thinks Norman is dead just like everyone else
- Harry becomes corrupted with the serum, almost addicted to it
- Gwen is caught in the crossfire and is in the wrong place at the wrong time
- Harry taunts Peter with Gwen before essentially going f*** this and snaps her neck
- Spider-man attacks electro with billboards and a car at one point during the times square fight (specifically, he throws said objects at electro)
- Felicity jones character = the girl in the car with harry in Monaco in the storyboards. If true, this means she accompanies harry to new York and starts working for Oscorp
- The man in the shadows whistles as he walks to the chamber with Normans head
- Gwen says this is bigger than you peter during the exchange in the building with the oxford banner and british flag etc. (even though in the trailers it is said at Chinatown Bob likely thought it happened during the former scene because of the way one of the trailers has edited; i.e. nothing is what I thought it was followed by response this is bigger than you Peter) - someone who saw the movie would not make this error
- Gwens dialogue about machine guns is part of the graduation conversation and not the later date scene before times square
- Spider-man does not punch electro during their final confrontation as per the leaked storyboard
- Spider-man celebrating with the firemen happens after electro sends the shockwave out that levels buildings etc. (seen in a lot of trailers etc.)
- Menken does not die
Really Bob? You expect anyone to buy this?
[11/03/2014 11:18:03 AM]RB: was the plan with electro to overload him
[11/03/2014 11:18:07 AM] RB: or to shut the power plant down
[11/03/2014 11:18:36 AM] Bob: Yeah, over loard him basically and he sort of explodes.o_O But then again. electricity never dies;)
I then explain why this makes no sense, as a magazine from a few months ago specifically stated that the plan is to turn the power plant off and NOT to do the exact opposite (increase power until electro cant hold anymore). My explanation is based on a primary source and makes sense given that we know electro has to draw electricity from his environment (see times square, he is in pain and needs juice to alleviate himself).
So, Bob realises he has stumbled, and the next day comes back with the following excuse that is extremely weak and unconvincing:
[12/03/2014 12:05:41 PM] Bob: You were right about the Electro fight at the end
[12/03/2014 12:05:46 PM]RB: ??
[12/03/2014 12:05:55 PM]RB: right about what?
[12/03/2014 12:06:44 PM] Bob: that Gwen turns off the power and Spidey tries to wear Electroout up until he loses all power and Spidey locks him in a crater and drops him in the ocean
[12/03/2014 12:07:05 PM] Bob: I saw a different one, instead, he's over charged and blows up then dumped into the ocean
There is literally no reason for them to shoot and, more importantly, RENDER, two different versions of the power plant battle. Lots of electricity vs. not enough (no electricity left in environment) would require LOTS of differences. it is not the same thing as the manhole shot, despite Bob using that as an excuse to make his excuse plausible. (there is a huge difference between altering an entire sequence vs. a single effects shot)
You expect anyone to buy this as well?
Bob says that spider-man has to fight electro whilst trying to fix his webshooter that got busted (happens when he gets pushed back into the cob car)
I respond that he must fix it at one point because he is seen using both webshooters in the new years eve times square video
Not wanting to explain how and when it happens, and likely because he has backed himself into a corner via his lie, Bob then reveals that he went to the bathroom during the times square fight.
I am sorry, but any spider-man fan would know that this is BS. You would never leave mid-fight scene, ESPECIALLY when you are so keen to watch tasm2 and are lucky enough to see it early. Bob justified himself, saying he was busting, but then why didnt he excuse himself earlier? You know, like during a preceding scene that was not an action sequence? Dumb.
How convenient
When asked to give specific details on any dialogue that has not been revealed in the trailers etc., Bob could not deliver. This was only around 48 hours after he had seen the movie. I, and I believe you as well, could easily reference at least half a dozen bits of dialogue from a film we have just seen, especially if it was one we were highly interested in seeing. Bob is incredibly suspect, therefore. He could not give dialogue examples (paraphrasing was fine) because he had not seen the movie.
I repeat, literally not one example of dialogue was given. This is depite him being happy to spoil far more significant things.
Bob was unable to identify Felicity Jones characters true identity and whether she is someone that justifies her role still being kept secret (apparently, the tatjana name from the storyboard is just a cover)
Emailed the cinema he went to
They responded that no early and or private screening for TASM2 took place. Specifically, no screening took place on the date Bob said he saw it. Couple this with Sevens video about the screening not existing (I cant believe so many people immediately dismissed seven - it is one thing to still believe Bob, but it is another to outright dismiss seven) and it is pretty damning.
Conclusion
So basically, the above is enough to seriously question whether Bob has seen the film. In fact, I believe it proves beyond reasonable doubt that lied. Regardless, let us wait and see whether he was right about all the spoilers listed in the first section of this message.
PS. Sony cant come after Bob because he never saw the film and therefore never signed an NDA. If he does receive attention from sony, then that proves he has seen the film. This risk is so miniscule that I went ahead and posted this anyway (plus I don't identify him and rely on ppl to read between the lines in order to identify who I am talking about). Furthermore, there are a handful of people who have been claiming to have seen the movie early, so this makes the risk even smaller.
PPS.
Bob lied about his friend seeing TASM2. He said he did not have a CBM account (and was his pen pal or something), but in actual fact, Bob was in contact with a cbm user named soto juice man. Why lie? If he was not lying, this means Bob, soto juice man, and a mystery third person all saw tasm2 early. Is he magic or something? How does he not only get to see the film early, but have a pen pal that also happened to see it? Far too coincidental.
But why would he lie?: I believe he simply wanted attention and adoration (which he did receive).
If one requires proof that the conversation took place, or that the email was sent, this can be provided.
Believe it or not, I am not mad at Bob, and would rather he not have spoiled a large portion of the movie for myself and others. I would have preferred he didn't mislead in the first place, but I can forgive this.
If this message requires I be banned from SHH, then so be it. Hopefully a handful of people read this before a possible nuking."
PPPS. Bob said that spider-man throws a car at electro during the times square fight even though in the newest trailer you see that spider-man is in no way strong enough to do that (he lets gravity do most of the work when putting the cop car down)
