Streep is coming off her Oscar-nominated role as the drunken, angry matriarch Violet Weston in Weinstein’s “August: Osage County,” and this role seems to have similar elements given the story line and Cody’s previous credits, which have always brought an edge to its characters. The CAA-repped Streep has a busy year ahead of her with Weinstein’s adaptation of “The Giver” and Disney’s “Into the Woods.” She follows that up with “Suffragette” opposite Carey Mulligan, which will bow sometime in 2015.
