Cult of Chucky

After a somewhat decent Curse of Chucky, we have another new sequel to the massive Child's Play/Chucky universe.

Quote:

According to Entertainment Weekly, the story follows Nica Pierce (Fioan Dourif), introduced in the last film, Curse of Chucky, who's been confined to an insane asylum for the past four years and still believes that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. However, several grisly murders start to suddenly plague the asylum once Nica's psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic tool for his patients, a certain smiling Good Guy doll. Brad Dourif will again voice Chucky, having played the character since the first Child's Play in 1988.

In order to escape, Nina will have to get help from Chucky's arch rival Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent, reprising his role from the first two Child's Play films), and go past Chucky's bride Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly, introduced to the series in the fourth installment, 1998's Bride of Chucky).

Cult of Chucky will begin production January 9th, with long-time series director Don Mancini at the helm. Mancini has written every single film in the series since the 1988 original, and wrote and directed the last two sequels, 2004's Seed of Chucky and 2013's Curse of Chucky.

The film will be released just in time for Halloween on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD in an unrated version.
