'Speedy' as her nickname was always just a red herring. Lets think about this:
If she becomes Speedy then there will be 3 archers on the team. Which will just be plain boring and very ridiculous. I mean how many archers have we seen on the show who can do what Oliver can.
Thea has shown great proficiency with knifes. She once threw one at Merlyn and then in the preview we see she throws one at Ra's Al Ghul. A lot of focus on knifes if the girl is going to be an archer, from the beginning Roy had some focus on arrows and he eventually took Arrows as his weapon, Thea is shown more with knifes.
I am thinking Ra's takes her under his wing in the finale and she trains with the League and eventually becomes Chesire. Oliver confronts her as she is about to assassinate someone in Starling. And we get this big Brother VS Sister feud. Thea is bad but Oliver doesnt want to hurt her. Thea has gone through way too much crap so it makes sense that she goes in this direction.
