Meet Yooka the chameleon and Laylee the bat. Playtonic Games Project Ukulele, the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, is officially titled Yooka-Laylee, the studio announced. The game is developed by a team of former Rare staff who worked on the Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games. Yooka-Laylee stars Yooka the chameleon and Laylee the bat. Theyre designed by Steve Mayles, the character artist who designed Banjo-Kazooies Banjo and Kazooie. Together, the pair will use their unique abilities to fight enemies and traverse the word. Yooka can use his tongue like a grappling hook, while Laylee can pick up Yooka and fly for a short period of time, or unleash a sonar blast. A Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee will launch tomorrow, giving backers the option to grab the finished game for $15 / £10. Its planned for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC, though the exact timing of each version depends on the success of the Kickstarter campaign and its stretch goals.
