Batman peered over Gotham City and watched the moonlit sky cover a landscape seething with a new brand of criminality - gang warfare. The Red Hood Gang had declared a territorial war against the Black Mask Gang. Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul had allied themselves to the Red Hood, while Harley Quinn, Two-Face, and the Riddler had allied themselves to the Black Mask. It was pure urban anarchy out there.
On board the alien spacecraft flown by the terrifying non-Earth intelligent hunter-creature known as X-225 Predator, a signal was received from the alien's home planet ordering the 'sentinel' to land on Earth and 'investigate' the Red Hood-Black Mask urban gang war. X-225 Predator (or simply 'Predator') loaded his laser-guns and dart-belt and landed his spacecraft right outside Gotham City (quietly) in a forest.
Batman devised a scheme to create internal conflicts within the Red Hood Gang and Black Mask Gang. He would try to convince Ra's al Ghul and Harley Quinn to betray their two gangs and instead work with each other to challenge Batman at the Gotham Ice Skating Rink. Ra's and Harley took up the challenge, fearing they would never again obtain the opportunity to challenge Batman in a public venue such as the ice-rink. Red Hood and Black Mask became mad with rage, thinking that the two gangs themselves conned each other to obtain an ally.
After Batman locked up Ra's and Harley at Arkham, he returned to the Gotham crime beat only to find a scene of pure horror. Predator had engaged members of both the Red Hood Gang and the Black Mask Gang in an alley-fight and was ripping up goons on both sides, left-and-right. Batman swooped in and used his powerful rope-gun to tie up Predator's legs and then tranquilized him with sleeping-darts before chasing away the other Red Hood and Black Mask goons lingering in the alley.
BATMAN: Why are you 'visiting' Earth?
PREDATOR: Gotham is plagued by anarchy.
BATMAN: Throwing fuel to the fire, eh?
PREDATOR: Yes!
BATMAN: I order you to return to your planet.
PREDATOR: Gotham is too much...fun.
BATMAN: I could blind you right now!
PREDATOR: Alright, sweet prince, I surrender.
BATMAN: I always felt funny being a vigilante...until now!
PREDATOR: The eternal optimist!
BATMAN: Return to your planet.
PREDATOR: I'll leave, but we'll see if Gotham becomes...sane.
BATMAN: There's a chance if you're not here making a hellmouth.
