I know there are a lot of you out there who concert experiences to share, so come share yours. Here's mine:
1991: Luther Vandross
It was on the night before Thanksgiving in Memphis, TN at the Pyramid, I had to go in the place on my mother who had to work that night. I went with my aunt, my cousin and her friend. We came in just Sounds Of Blackness was leaving the stage, but was in time to see Sinbad and Luther. Great concert though.
1997: New Edition
This right here was my first true concert experience here. Myself, my sister and her boyfriend (now her husband) went to see New Edition, but we got there late cause we didn't know the directions to the Mid-South Coliseum was and we missed opening acts, 702 and BLACKstreet. While we were waiting, a fight broke out up in the balcony and my sister if this gets worse, we're leaving New Edition or no New Edition, but luckily, security broke it up and after over an hour, NE (sans Ricky Bell) hit the stage. And if you wanna know more, just go to YouTube and type up 'new edition home again tour'.
1997: Prince (The Artist)
This concert here came as a surprise to me, but my mother, two of my aunts and my cousins went to see the Emancipation/Jam Of The Year tour in Memphis (once again at The Pyramid). There was no one else on the bill, but Prince really rocked the place and (as Stone Cold would put it) that's all I got to say about that.
1998: Boyz II Men
My friend and I went to see Boyz II Men when they came here in Tupelo to the Tupelo Coliseum (now known as the BancorpSouth Arena) and we also saw there K-Ci & JoJo, Next and Uncle Sam (one of BIIM's Stonecreek acts)
2003: New Edition
I saw NE (sans Bobby Brown) in Tunica, MS at the Grand Casino, they were part of the Tom Joyner Sky Show, I saw them with my cousins.
2013: Backstreet Boys
This was my first Pop concert. They came to Tupelo at the BancorpSouth Arena. I saw them with Baylee (Brian Littrell's son) and DJ Pauly D as the opening acts
2016: I Love The 90s Tour
This was the concert I saw the week before Prince passed. The acts I saw there were Salt N Pepa with DJ Spinderella, Vanilla Ice, Kid N Play, Color Me Badd, Tone Loc and Coolio
