Anybody watch this show that premiered this week?
It's the latest spin off of the mammoth CSI franchise set around the FBI's cyber crimes division.
The main stars you'd recognise are Patricia Arquette, James Van Der Beek and Peter MacNichol.
It was okay as an opening episode, but nothing really special. I found all the little pixelated images and other computer graphics used to denote some digital thing going on to be quite distracting though. I think they need to fix their editing, because that part of it is not fun to watch and slightly headache inducing. It's as if there is too much noise.
If they tone that down, it would be better. I think the characters will take a while to find their stride though. The previous two CSI spin offs, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York, took a while to get going, particularly the latter.
Also, this doesn't actually really seem like CSI. They're the FBI, and it's just the CSI name slapped over it, because they're not really Crime Scene Investigators in the same sense, and don't even refer to themselves as CSI. This could easily have just been its own show, but seems to be trading off the CSI brand name to give it leverage.
