Netflix Picks Up Will Arnett Comedy Series Flaked by Nellie Andreeva With The Millers over, Will Arnett has quickly landed his next series. Netflix has given an eight-episode, direct-to-series order to Flaked , starring the Arrested Development alum, for a 2016 launch. Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, who has a deal with Netflix, also executive produces. Arnett, who already has animated comedy BoJack Horseman on Netflix and co-starred in the streaming services Arrested Development revival, called Flaked a passion project. Co-created by Arnett and Mark Chappell (The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret), Flaked is set in the insular world of Venice, CA. The series is the serio-comic story of a self-appointed guru (Arnett) who falls for the object of his best friends fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bulls*** that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel. Arnett and Chappell executive produce with Ben Silverman, Peter Principato and Hurwitz for Electus and Principato-Young. Flaked is a Netflix production. Arnett also has a development deal at CBS TV Studios, which stemmed from his starring role on the studios recently cancelled CBS comedy series The Millers. Netflix has been ramping up its half-hour comedy portfolio with orders to Grace And Frankie, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and animated F Is For Family, among others. The network also picked up a Chelsea Handler talk show. |
