As they've been doing lately, Syfy had a commercial free sneak peak of the first episode several weeks in advance of the scheduled premier. It's set in 2019 after the world's gone to hell, overrun with vampires. Vanessa (Helsing, according to epguides) is asleep in a bunker being guarded over by a marine with orders to keep her and the doctor safe (except the doctor's been turned). He doesn't know anything else about her. The scheduled start date is September 23rd, 2016.
The only face I recognized was Christopher Heyerdahl (the Swede from Hell on Wheels), whose been making regular appearances in genre shows since I first saw him in Sanctuary back in 2007.
