Like everyone here, I've been following the fall-out from this production and the blame game currently going on between Fox and Trank. Fox announced that they still plan to go ahead with the sequel, which will almost certainly not happen because they'd be stuck continuing on in the universe that Trank created for this film.
There are so many different factors involved, but it's clear that Fox wants to hold onto the property. So my thinking is, can they even realistically do a reboot of this franchise soon enough to hang onto the rights? The FF brand had already been in the toilet due to the previous two films, and after this one becoming a historic flop, I have a hard time thinking that the average movie goer will want to even see a reboot, let alone line up for a sequel.
So in either case, whether Marvel gets it back or Fox makes another go at it, when's the earliest you think we can realistically get another FF film?
