Hotwire's Halloween Artwork Challenge

First, this isn't a contest, just a friendly challenge to artists. I have a vision in my head and I'm wondering if anyone can bring it to life, or afterlife. Here goes.

Superheroes/villains and zombies!

I'm jot talking about heroes/villians as zombie but, as survivors! What would the lose of those they care about do to them? How would The Joker adapt to a world where no one cares about his antics? How would Spider-Man cope with NYC being overrun with zombies?

These are the ideas I've been kicking around for years. Let's see what you guys can do!

Franchise Fatigue...Is It Real?

Ok, someone had to start this discussion. Might as well be me. :)

So, I think its safe to say that this year has not been kind to sequels from studio franchises. This was a big year with a lot of new installments in pre-existing movie franchises, some were highly anticipated (Civil War, Batman v Superman, Star Trek Beyond, Jason Bourne) and some nobody ever wanted (ID4, Alice 2).

Besides a few exceptions (CW and Star Trek Beyond) this year was rough for studio tentpole films, especially from a critical perspective. Movies like BvS, X-Men Apocalypse, TMNT 2, ID4 2, Alice 2, Jack Reacher 2 got demolished by critics. While some of them were critic proof and still made money, a lot of them fizzled out at the BO as well. I think its safe to say we're not getting another TMNT or ID4, Universal may be hesitant to do another Bourne movie, and although loved by critics, Paramount has got to be disappointed with ST Beyond's BO performance. And although, it did very very well, some are saying Civil War should have done better at the BO given its near unanimous praise as one of Marvel's best films.

Are we reaching a saturation point where a are starting to wear on these big budget franchise tentpoles or does Hollywood simply need to up the ante and produce more compelling films and the audiences will show up? What are your thoughts?

Trump's chances?

I'll say upfront that I'm an Aussie, but I'm a totally nerd for the US election, particularly this election where you have a candidate that isn't the conventional major party candidate that you would normally see in a Presidential race. I spent about 4 hours yesterday pouring over polls and media reports on who's likely to win and they all seemed to point to the fact that Trump's chances at getting the keys to the White House is pretty slim and the Clinton's will be moving back into their old house in the new year.

I'm keen to hear from both Democrats and Republicans, the latest "polling map" on 270towin.com that I have found has Clinton at 272 to Trump's 112 with 154 toss up. Do you guys agree with this assessment? What I find odd about this, which makes me doubt it, is it is saying that Texas is a toss up. That is usually one of the first states that you'd put in the Republican column.

http://ift.tt/Ky3GVb

A previous polling map had Clinton at 262, with 9 toss up states, and Trump definitely needing to win 6 of the 9 toss up states because they had more than 8 electoral votes and if he dropped any one of those 6 states, Clinton would be over the 270 required.

So, to those that have access to the full media in America, what is really Trump's chances? Are they as slim at 270towin.com makes out?

Tim Miller in the MCU

I love to see Tim direct a film in the MCU. Deadpool was an ingenious film on many levels and it punched WELL ABOVE it's budget. Many tough creative choices had to be made and it seems like Tim & co. made all the right ones. I'd be shocked if Kevin Feige didn't reach out to this guy at some point about the potential of bringing him into the MCU fold. Does this idea excite you like it does me? If so, what films do you think he's be good for?

I think he'd be perfect for a Hit-Monkey film down the road.

Who do you want to see direct Deadpool 2?

I was thinking Fede Alvarez might be a good choice.

I've seen Matthew Vaughn mentioned a few times, though I'd say that's unlikely

El Mayimbe: Why the hate???

I have read time and time again that this guy has a less-than-satisfying track record when it comes to scoops, but doing a bit of research has convinced me that he isn't particularly terrible, or at least not to the extent that you guys seem to be proposing.

There are plenty of things he has gotten correct in the past... So tell me, why the hate?
