I came across this collection at a comic store. Was anyone else a fan? To me, some of these were the most touching, Batmaniest entries in the whole mythos.
Specifically, I loved "Good Evening, Midnight" and "Perpetual Mourning."
Perpetual Mourning gives us the clearest look into Batman's soul of any work I've seen of him. It's his thoughts and deliberations while he conducts an autopsy of a female robbery victim. You get his empathy for the victim and his anger at the perp.
