This topic has been through my mind for a few months. It's meant to appreciation and respect of female movie goers, such as myself.
I have seen a trend in film, which suggests that movie studios are finally seeing sense on how much power the female audience can have when investing in movies.
- Marvel Cinematic Universe
- The Twilight Saga
- The Hunger Games
- Harry Potter
- Divergent
- Frozen
- Maleficent
The films and franchises listed are examples, in which are popular with the female audience, excluding Hunger Games, Marvel and Harry Potter, as both genders enjoy those films.
No matter what you think of the first Twilight, it established the power the young female audience and it has helped the franchise make a lot of cash.
A lot of my female friends are comic book fans and fans of the superhero movie genre, as the number of female comic book fans are growing, will Hollywood take notice?
Are the tides changing?
Are Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel signs that WB and Disney are wising up and finally realising the impact, appealing to a female audience can have on the overall success of a film and respecting them?
This topic only protains to big budget blockbusters or popcorn movies in general. Not other films, since that's another topic for another time.
