Ben Wheatley's Free Fire - Hard-boiled arms deal gone wrong

Following Ben Wheatley's adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s novel High Rise he will direct Free Fire.

The film is set in late-1970s Boston, and Luke Evans will play the leader of an Irish-bred gang alongside Armie Hammer. Olivia Wilde plays Justine, who arranges a large-scale arms deal between the Evans-Hammer crime syndicate and a pair of Irish rogues played by Christopher Nolan favorite Cillian Murphy and Wheatley regular Michael Smiley.

Free Fire will take you and stick you in the middle of the action. I want the film to have the stylish, no-nonsense feel that you get in Peckinpah’s The Getaway. It’s a modern ’70s movie. Muscular, tough, and spare.”
