Anyone want to play an "X-Men Evolution" based message board RPG?

I figured this was the best place to type this; if not, hopefully a mod will move it and this error was done in ignorance.

Onto the issue at hand, I've been running a message board RPG (on Yuku.com) loosely based around the 2000-2003 animated series "X-Men Evolution" since 2002. It is a game which worked closely within that continuity, but which made at times drastic changes to it based on my whim as a game runner as well as based on the characters and actions made by my players over the years. It is a game which has kept the cast low and has been as carefully run as I could, based on my experiences running tabletop RPG's (even making some) back in high school. Currently, there are some openings for new players and since I have recruited the lion's share of my troupe from Super Hero Hype, I figured this was the best place to start.

The game followed the four official seasons of the cartoon in terms of the general tone and plot of the game. Currently, however, we'd be in the middle of a metaphorical 5th or 6th season where things have naturally progressed. Most of the cast would be 18 and up, the Brotherhood are now housed in the internationally recognized island of Genosha, mutants are known to the public and Magneto is seemingly dead after a joint effort from the X-Men, a squad of SHIELD "Avengers" and some disagreeing Brotherhood members. Their current threat is that of the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club as well as the machinations of Mr. Sinister.

For the record, past players have included notables such as Dew K. Mosi, Cyclops, Zoken, Lactophiliac, and Franklin Richards.

The game allows players to make their own original characters or to use an official Marvel Comics mutant character. The caveat of course is that it has to fit in with the game's continuity, which usually involves a little guidance. Official Marvel characters who are either being played (or have been played) by other players or are NPC's include: Professor X, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Emma Frost, Angel, Mystique, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Maverick, Omega Red, Gambit, Havok, Nightcrawler, Juggernaut, Squirrel-Girl, Boom-Boom, Colossus, and Sabretooth.

If anyone is interested, I can answer all questions either here or in SHH PM. Thanks for reading!

Slushy and Neko Punk Go To White Castle.

11 years ago, I watched the first Harold and Kumar movie. Having lived in Las Vegas most of my life, I didn't know White Castle was an actual food chain (it was the first in the US). I thought it was something they made up for the film. When I found it about its existence, I wanted to try it out because of what I saw on screen as well as word of mouth from a bunch of my friends on the East Coast, but I never got the chance to do so because the closest location to me was in St. Louis.

Last year, they announced there would be a location in Vegas, their first one in the Western part of the US after their successful sales test at the annual Foodie Fest over the years here, which would usually be a three hour wait in line. After hearing about the grand opening today, me and my buddy drove over there as fast as we could. After a one hour wait in line (which shocked me as I thought it was going to be longer), we had arrived.

We tried to take the Harold and Kumar Challenge: 30 sliders, 5 fries, and large Cherry Cokes and we couldn't do it! We finished halfway before our stomachs tapped out from being full, but let me just say after waiting the years, the months, the days, the hours, the minutes, and the seconds, I took the first bite out of their slider and it was totally worth it. :woo:

Should the ASM film series have stayed dark and grounded?

While ASM1 wasn't perfect was there potential for a solid trilogy had the tone of the series remained dark and grounded?

Robert Downey Jr. and Tate Taylor Team for U.S.S. Indianapolis Film

In development for some time, Warner Bros. Pictures appears to finally be moving forward with a big screen take on the harrowing true tale of the U.S.S. Indianapolis. TheWrap today reports that Tate Taylor, the director behind The Help and Get on Up, has signed on to helm. Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, remain attached to produce the still-untitled film through their Team Downey. Their involvement was first reported back in 2011 and it is still uncertain whether or not Downey may be planning to headline as well.

Famously recounted on the big screen by Robert Shaw in Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, the real life story of the U.S.S. Indianapolis saw the vessel sunk by Japanese torpedoes in 1945 and the ship’s crew left for days to fend against starvation, hypothermia and some of the worst shark attacks in history. Of the nearly 900 men that survived the torpedoes, only about 300 survived what followed.

The big screen version will make use of dual narratives, relating the story through the eyes of 11-year old Hunter Scott. Scott, inspired in 1996 by the based-in-fact recollection of the ship’s demise in Jaws, set out to exonerate the vessel’s captain, Charles McVay.

Robert Schenkkan (“The Pacific”) was previously attached to draft the film, with Mike Jones (In the Event of a Moon Disaster ) now coming aboard to script. David Gambino is also attached to produce with Jon Berg and Nik Mavinkurve overseeing for Warner Bros.

This could be great, hopefully RDJ stars as it would be a nice change of pace for him.

Designing Worlds

Hello! My name is Kyle and I have been visiting these boards on an off for quite some time. Recently I have been focusing on creating a bit more art, and this has led me to create a variety of characters. As I continue to develop a style and create worlds, I'd like to share my work. I would like to post designs that I've created to keep me motivated and artistically active here. Watch out for posts ranging from Woodland Creatures to Calvin and Hobbes, and anything else that hooks me in.
