Vaccinations

The anti-vaccination movement, which started as a few people sitting on the fringe, has swelled in numbers, and we're starting to see the effects. Earlier this month, we saw an outbreak of measles. You may remember measles as that disease that you heard about in movies from the 60s but never heard about anyone having because it was all but extinct in the modern era. Yeah, it's back in a big way, and the anti-vaccination movement is entirely to thank for it. Measles, by the by, can in some cases cause encephalitis, a deadly disease that causes your brain to overheat and cook itself to death.

Here are my thoughts on the issue:

1) Vaccinations save lives.

2) Not vaccinating your kids is child endangerment in the worst way.

3) Vaccinations do not cause autism. If you think they do, you're a sap who's been sold a big ol' bottle of snake oil.

4) If you'd rather have a dead child than an autistic child, you're kind of an *******.

It's getting to the point that if people aren't going to do the common sense thing of vaccinating their kids out of willful ignorance, we're going to have to make vaccinations legally mandatory. This is too important not to.

Thoughts?

Should Disney create a Marvel Channel?

Going into Phase 4/5 do you think Disney should create a Marvel Channel? They could replace one of there existing channels or just create one from another company like they did with the SOAP Channel.

Things I could see in a Marvel Channel (Key would be previously existing content being purchased if not already)

Old Content

  • The Netflix Shows should be on season 4/5 with new ones probably in development. Enough time will have passed to air Season 1 of these shows on a Marvel Channel.

  • Agents of Shield could move to the Marvel Channel so not to be pressured by ratings requirements

  • Same with Agent Carter

  • All the old cartoons can air during the mornings from

  • Have Famous Marvel Fans have commentary over old Marvel movies on Friday night movie specials

  • An late night Anime block featuring repeats of X-Men/Wolverine/Ironman/Blade and Marvel Anime DTV's

New Content

  • Create a new Marvel Animated Universe based off Secret Wars. Make a mid day block of connected cartoon action Shows.

  • I think Marvel after the success of The Defenders will green light Marvel Feature Length One Shots on Netflix for lesser heroes like Hawkeye or Nebula. After a exclusive period on Netflix could air on Marvel Channel.

  • Young Avengers or Runaways MCU connected live action could air on Marvel Channel.

  • A voice acted series based on the Marvel MMORPG could be funny.

Lots and lots old and new content could be included in a Marvel Channel.

Favorite Solo CBM Franchise

The Criteria: A Superhero with two or more films in their respective film series. That includes both the original franchise and any reboots, prequels, etc.

Black Canary and her canary cry

Okay, before the Flash showed up, we had the first Canary (Sara), it seemed to be their version of Black Canary, and she used a siren sound machine that represented the canary cry in comics. So now, the real Black Canary...or we can just call her Black Canary...she dresses nearly the same as her sister with the mask, but still uses that little device. Do you think some accident will happen to Dinah at some point in which she will get the ability to scream loud or what?

I thought no oher heroes existed in Arrow before. Before the Flash, who has super speed, and is from a world where there are super-powered people and villains, everything in Arrow seemed realistic and believable up until the crossover with the Flash.

Even though we've had Flash, Captain Boomerang appear, does this still mean that “Arrow" won't go for that route for Dinah Lance getting the canary cry power? Because they did not allow for the first Canary to have it, and so far, the current Black Canary does not and just uses that device for shattering glass.

Why not though? There is no point in sticking with this "realism" approach in the show if Flash, Firestorm and Atom will have super powers, but Black Canary does not.

Up until this point since Flash and Ray Palmer, I didn't mind Canary not having the canary cry power. Everything in the show seemed possible. But since we have these other characters with super powers, I would find it unfaithful to the character if Dinah continues to not possess that power.

75 Years in a Flash

January 2015 was the 75th anniversary of the debut date of The Flash Comics.

Thanks to Gardner Fox, and with assist from Harry Lampert, we had the base of what some believe to be the reason comics today are as valuable as they are.

Historians believe the creation of Jay Garrick, the first speedster to carry the mantle of the Flash, made comics more popular for the time.

To revitalize the Flash, and make it more modern in the 50s, and make the character fitting for the world of the versions DC's big 3 at the time, Carmine Infantino and John Broome gave us this character.

Comic historians believe the creation of this character revitalized comic books back in the silver age.

Barry Allen was the first leader of the Justice League of America, Mark Waid brought that up in one of the issues of his and Barry Kitson's mini series.

In one of the issues Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Aquaman are together on a mission, GL gave a command as he usually does, Aquaman asked him why he gives commands, GL's response was "because I'm the leader" (and he proved himself to be good in that position, even with his dorky moments and sometimes out of line behavior, at least not as bad as they are in NU52), Aquaman laughed and said him, Canary, and J'onn agreed Flash is the group leader.

One of the great things about Barry Allen is the introduction of Wally West in his era, a favorite for many flash fans.

Back then they had a similar personality, and the same costume.

Can you tell who is who?

It wasn't before Flash 135 that Wally's costume changed to the most recognized costume for Kid Flash.

Flash 139 was the debut of Flashes arch nemesis, the second Reverse Flash: Professor Zoom/Eobard Thawne

Why did Barry have issue 120 so early after his debut?

Flash Comics (Jay Garrick's series) stopped at issue 104, they took over at Flash 105 and continued the 246 issues of Barry Allen.

It made it more perfect for this opportunity, the meeting of the Flashes of the two worlds.

Making Barry Allen the first hero to cross the boarder between two worlds teaming up with his counterpart from that universe, and making way for adventures teaming the Justice League of Earth 1 with the Justice Society of Earth 2.

Do You Pee in the Shower?

Well, do you?

I do. While the shampoo/conditioner/body wash is being rinsed out of my hair, I unleash the pee down the drain as well.

How will the world end?

Well?
