You wanted it, you got it! Brock is back April 2017, Marvel tweeted, including the issues cover by series artist Gerardo Sandoval, artwork which would indicate that not only will Eddie be returning to the symbiotes world, the pair will once again re-team as Venom. |
The new take, which landed at The CW with a script commitment, reimagines the film over seven seasons (and 70 years) with each frame covering a decade. In success, the first run will be set in San Francisco during 1967's so-called Summer of Love. Each season will see the humans, setting, antagonist and story all change. Only the vampires aka the Lost Boys will remain the same. |
The younger-skewing network has opted to roll development on its high-profile adaptations of Charmed and The Lost Boys to next season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. With little room on its schedule, the network is sticking with six pilot orders this season even with last year. While neither The Lost Boys nor Charmed were among the orders, both hail from important producers to the network in Rob Thomas (iZombie) and Jennie Snyder Urman (Jane the Virgin). |

Bone Tomahawk's S. Craig Zahler who worked with Vaughn recently on Brawl In Cell Block 99 is in the director's chair, and wrote the script. The story finds two police officers (Gibson as the old timer and Vaughn as his volatile younger partner) who are suspended when a video of their overly violent tactics is plastered across the web and on news channels. With their income suspended and funds running low, they double down on the bad behaviour and head for the criminal underworld. But there, they find far more than they wanted... |

Leonardo DiCaprio will headline the true organized crime tale The Black Hand |
Leonardo DiCaprio has a new historical tale in development with The Black Hand, based on author Stephan Taltys upcoming nonfiction account of the rise of organized crime in America and one mans personal battle to bring it down. Deadline has the news, reporting that DiCaprio will both headline as NYPD Lt. Joe Petrosino and produce through his Appian Way banner. Paramount Pictures will release the film and is currently looking for a scribe to adapt the screenplay. The Black Hand will published this April with the following official description: Beginning in the summer of 1903, an insidious crime wave filled New York City, and then the entire country, with fear. The children of Italian immigrants were kidnapped, and dozens of innocent victims were gunned down. Bombs tore apart tenement buildings. Judges, senators, Rockefellers, and society matrons were threatened with gruesome deaths. The perpetrators seemed both omnipresent and invisible. Their only calling card: the symbol of a black hand. The crimes whipped up the slavering tabloid press and heated ethnic tensions to the boiling point. Standing between the American public and the Black Hands lawlessness was Joseph Petrosino. Dubbed the Italian Sherlock Holmes, he was a famously dogged and ingenious detective, and a master of disguise. As the crimes grew ever more bizarre and the Black Hands activities spread far beyond New Yorks borders, Petrosino and the all-Italian police squad he assembled raced to capture members of the secret criminal society before the countrys anti-immigrant tremors exploded into catastrophe. Petrosinos quest to root out the source of the Black Hands power would take him all the way to Sicilybut at a terrible cost. The Gotham Groups Jeremy Bell and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein will also produce The Black Hand alongside Appian Ways Nathaniel Posey. Ashley Brucks and Gabby Canton will oversee for Paramount. |

Fogelmans Life Itself script hit the Black List before the NBC series took off, and when FilmNation bought it last summer, three studios bid on it. |
Isaac and Wilde play a lovestruck couple who become the catalyst for a multi-generational relationship drama, with the characters connected by a tragic event. The film will shoot in New York and Seville, Spain, this spring. |
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II best known for his role as Cadillac on the Netflix series The Get Down, has been tapped to play the villain Black Manta in Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa. Patrick Wilson and Amber Heard also star in the Warner Bros. movie. James Wan is directing the superhero film with Peter Safran producing. Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, and Rob Cowan are executive producing. Warner Bros. declined to comment on the casting. The studio said last year that the title character would be caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and the undersea Atlanteans, who are ready to lash out in revolt. Aquaman is based on the DC Comics character whos the king of Atlantis, a half-human and half-Atlantean named Arthur Curry. He was first introduced in the early 1940s. Black Manta first appeared in 1967 comics as an antagonist to the underwater superhero. Abdul-Mateen was also a finalist to play young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff and can be seen next in Baywatch opposite Dwayne Johnson. He is repped by Gersh. |

PETA Wants Fictional Space Vikings From the Year 40,000 to Stop Wearing Fur. Or, to be more specific, that small, sculpted models of said Space Vikings stop being depicted as wearing fur. Or, to be even more specific, PETA UK have written to Games Workshop, makers of Warhammer 40,000 and its myriad table-top gaming models, asking them to cease depicting imagery of its myriad characters wearing animal fur and make them fur free. Thats in quotation marks, because obviously, these models are already fur free in that theyre made out of plastic, resin, and metal. Its just that some of them (say, the Space Wolves, the very Viking-inspired branch of the Space Marines that have a fondness for, well, actual space wolves) are depicted wearing fur pelts on top of their armor. Even that is too much in PETAs eyes, who claim that it sends the message that wearing fur is acceptablewhen, in fact, it has no more place in 2017 than it would in the year 40,000. Thats silly enough, but the message continues, noting that nothing on the bloody battlefields of Warhammers conflict-ravaged universe could match the terrible reality of the fur trade. Guys, this is the franchise that portrays unspeakably grim catastrophes so casually it gave rise to the term grimdark as a storytelling trope! In a recent 40k campaign event, for example, one of the biggest planets in the Human Imperium, Cadia, was destroyed after the evil forces of Chaos (actual demons!) crapped out a mass of nightmarish horrors over the planet, then smashed a giant, ancient spaceship into it, and then absorbed the shattered remnants of the planet and most of its 850 million inhabitants into a rift which was basically a portal to literal space hell. And thats like, a Tuesday in the Warhammer universe. Nothing can be gained out of a grimdark point-scoring contest when your opponent is Games Workshop. As PETA itself notes, there are plenty of actual horrors within the fur trade with regards to the abuse animals face. Choosing to make a play against fictional fur garments in a setting as preposterously absurd as the world of Warhammer 40,000 instead seems like a profoundly poor area of focus when it comes to championing animal rights. But given that PETA has a long history of awful stunt campaigns, it probably shouldnt be all that surprising to hear that they would focus on something like this in the first place. |

Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin will launch for PlayStation VR on February 21, Double Fine Productions announced. A standalone chapter of the Psychonauts saga, Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin is a mind-bending adventure puzzle game built from the ground up for virtual reality that chronicles the events between Psychonauts and the upcoming Psychonauts 2. Players will take on the role of Raz, a young psychic and now fully fledged member of the Psychonauts elite group of international psychic secret agents. Youll see through Razs eyes in first-person and use his various psychic powers to solve puzzles. Clarivoyance will allow you to see through the eyes of others and explore the environment, while other abilities like telekinesis and pyrokinesis allow you to move things around with your mind or set them on fire. The story of Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin picks up at the end of Psychonauts, with Raz, Lili, Sasha, Milla, and Coach Oleander flying off to rescue Truman Zannotto, the Grand Head of the Psychonauts. Their mission takes them into the heart of the Rhombus of Ruin, a mysterious part of the ocean said to be as deadly as two Bermuda Triangles back to back. But when the rescue party itself is kidnapped and held prisoner in Rhombus, and Raz is immobilized, he must use his psychic powers to reunite his friends, reveal the identity of the kidnapper, and free Truman. Check out a new, 360-degree view trailer below. |
This is while the Tomb Raider team over at Crystal Dynamics works on the first game in Square Enix's Marvel deal, which is based around the Avengers. Square Enix has already said it will not reveal anything more of the project until 2018. Could it also see release in 2018? It seems unlikely, considering how fresh the ink is on Marvel's deal. Back at Eidos Montreal, a small team is currently aiding Crystal Dynamics' Avengers project and, Eurogamer has heard, in the early stages of production on the second Marvel game based around Guardians of the Galaxy. This project will be lead by Eidos Montreal. With its collaboration on Avengers, the full production of Guardians of the Galaxy and a big new Tomb Raider game to finish first, it sounds like the studio will be kept busy - and away from Deus Ex - for quite a while. |

Nearly a year ago*in January 2016 we wrote about the GPD Win Windows 10 handset which ran the full version of the desktop OS and which was designed*for gaming. The design for the*GPD Windows 10 Game Console features* Windows 10 Home running on an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processorwith 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of*expandable*storage, and a 5.5 inch 720P screen. Now after some tumult the device is actually shipping to some (but not all) backers and Slashgear had the opportunity to review it. Calling it a Nintendo 3DS XL running a full Windows 10 (it can fit inside a*case designed for the former)**they note the cramped keyboard and awkward lay-out made it unsuitable for extensive writing, which dashed one of my dreams. The gaming keys do a*bit better, with a full set as found on an Xbox or PlayStation controller, selectable via a physical switch. They note the build quality is surprisingly decent and the hinge strong and steady. With an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor with Intel HD Graphics 405* GPU with DirectX 12 support, 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB eMMC storage the handheld has the same specs as Microsofts Surface 3. The batterys rated at 6900 mAh which should last*around*5 hours of active use at most. It also has a*single USB-C port for both data and charging, a full-sized USB 3.0 port,**a mini HDMI type C port for a second or mirrored display, a microSD card slot that can support up to 128 GB cards and*Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (no LTE). The hardware can handle around 30 fps on the 720P screen, which has wide viewing angles but which is not bright enough to use in*sunlight outside, *though the device is also limited by its small 64 GB internal storage and Slashgear notes the SD card slot does not seem to deal well with larger memory cards. The full Windows 10 desktop is cramped on the small screen, but the tablet UI works well on the multi-touch screen. The device reached around 16 fps on high and 24 fps on low settings in Devil May Cry and seemed quite playable. Skyrim on the other hand was a disaster and never peaked above 15 fps. The battery lasts from 3 hours under heavy to 5 hours under light use, and the handset can be charged over USB-C from any 5V/2.5A source, meaning a good power bank could keep you going indefinitely. As a PC the store apps make good use of the small screen, and using your finger is preferable to using the joystick as a mouse control. You can of course also connect it to an external screen, keyboard and mouse, either via the ports of wirelessly, and the device can do anything a Surface 3 can do, except use an active pen. Slashgear calls it the first truly mobile PC gaming device as well as an example of what a mobile Windows 10 could have been* and while they think future versions may be better, the GPD Win has the advantage of being available now. |
LENA IS ARRESTED After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentines Day together. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode written by Robert Rovner and Cindy Lichtman. (212).
