I figure we can keep a list as the season goes on so far.
So far what's changed is Diggle has a son now instead of a daughter, right? Interesting because on Legends of Tomorrow last year it was John Diggle's son playing green arrow.

Thomas Jane and Molly Parker are starring in the latest adaptation of a Stephen King story, Netflix's adaptation of the author's novella 1922. Zak Hilditch will direct from the screenplay he wrote based on King's 131-page story telling of a man's confession of his wife's murder. The tale is told from from the perspective of Wilfred James, the story's unreliable narrator who admits to killing his wife, Arlette, with his son in Nebraska. But after he buries her body, he finds himself terrorized by rats and, as his life begins to unravel, becomes convinced his wife is haunting him. Jane is playing Wilfred James, while Parker is playing Arlette. Dylan Schmid, Kaitlyn Bernard, Brian D’Arcy James and Neal McDonough also are starring. Ross M. Dinerstein is producing the film via his Campfire banner. The project is currently shooting in Vancouver. 1922 marks Netflix's second project based on King's work. Mike Flanagan is directing an adaptation of Gerald's Game, which stars Carla Gugino and currently is in production. Hilditch helmed the apocalyptic thriller These Final Hours, which screened at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. He is repped by Paradigm and Thruline Entertainment. Jane is a King veteran, having appeared in 2003's Dreamcatcher and 2007's The Mist. The actor, who starred on the TV series Hung and The Expanse, will next be seen in the film Hot Summer Nights with Maika Monroe. He is repped by Paradigm and Ziffren Brittenham. Parker stars on Netflix’s series House of Cards as Jackie Sharp, and recently was seen in Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut American Pastoral. She is repped by CAA and Circle of Confusion. Paradigm packaged and negotiated the deal with Netflix. |

The director of hit Indonesian martial arts film The Raid and its sequel has landed his next project. Gareth Evans will write and direct period thriller Apostle, about a mysterious man who travels to a remote island in search of his missing sister. In the film, the man attempts to rescue his sister after she's kidnapped by a religious cult, which is demanding a ransom for her return. But it soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, who digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built. XYZ Films, Severn Screen and Evans' One More One Productions will produce the project, with XYZ, which is handling international sales, introducing it to buyers at AFM in Santa Monica. The film is eyeing a March 2017 start of production in the U.K. Apostle is a reunion between Evans and XYZ, which produced and handled international sales on both The Raid and its sequel, The Raid 2. Evans rose to fame after he wrote and directed the 2011 action film that starred Iko Uwais. It was praised for its inventive action sequences and thrilling scenes, and was acquired for the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics. The sequel, also written and directed by Evans, was released in 2014. Evans, who also is attached to MRC's film Blister, is repped by WME and Management 360. At AFM, XYZ also is handling sales on Baltasar Kormakur’s Icelandic thriller The Oath, which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival; Anders Walters’ feature debut I Kill Giants, starring Zoe Saldana and Imogen Poots; and Craig Zahler's Brawl at Cell Block 99, starring Vince Vaughn and Don Johnson. |

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan have joined Rutger Hauer in the cast of Russian-Chinese fantasy adventure movie “Viy-2,” producer Alexey Petrukhin has told Variety. The film is the sequel to the 2014 Russian box-office hit based on a horror novella by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. It grossed $33.2 million in Russia, and was released in multiple international territories. The cast on “Viy-2” is led by Jason Flemyng (“Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”), who also starred in the first film, Charles Dance, Martin Klebba and Christopher Fairbank. The director was Oleg Stepchenko, and the screenplay was by Stepchenko, Dmitry Palcev, and Petrukhin. The movie was shot in China, and is now in post-production. The film, which is budgeted at $48 million, is expected to be released early next year. The movie centers on English explorer Jonathan Green (Flemyng), who receives an order from Peter the Great to map the Russian Far East. “Once again he sets out for a long journey full of incredible adventures that will eventually lead him to China,” according to a statement. “The cartographer will face many breathtaking discoveries, encounter bizarre creatures, meet with Chinese princesses, and confront deadly martial-arts masters and the Dragon King.” |
