Ever since the threat of Hydra has made its presence known within this series, I feel like it's been somewhat of a odd thing on how the Avengers (whether as a whole group of just one of its members) are ever mentioned by any given character whenever someone brings up the threat level that Hydra possess to the world, global security, or even targets that Hydra would want to start working on taking out.
Now, I've heard some explain on how it's possible that given the fact that the Avengers may not have reassembled with each other as of yet, no one would think about them as a potential ally/threat...which is plausible, but some of the members within the group are formidable individuals on their own as well.
I mean I know the show has to find its own footing and all, but considering that this is still of part the MCU, I just find it jarring on how the Avengers are sometimes talked about as if they're already gone and no longer on Earth, hence not something worth thinking about.
Heck, I was surprised that Phil showed no reaction to hearing about Captain America's role in taking down SHIELD, let alone when the news report said he was missing considering on how much of a fanboy he is of his.
I think the only times that I remember hearing about one of the Avengers being referenced when they should have been mentioned was back where Skye had asked Coulson to consult with Thor about the Asgardian artifact that they had discovered or when Maria Hill was shown talking to Pepper Potts on how Tony's lawyers were protecting her.
But aside from that, especially when Hydra is concerned, they don't seem to be either worried nor care about what the Avengers (or any one of them) could do that would pose a problem to them, let alone Phil thinking that his group is the only measure towards combating against Hydra.
